Easter Holiday Poster Competition

Following on from our exciting SPRING WRITING COMPETITION we are launching our EASTER HOLIDAY POSTER COMPETITION.

Did you know?

  • Nearly 22 million school days are lost each year due to the common cold?
  • On average, children have 6 - 10 colds a year?
  • Some viruses and bacteria can live from 20 minutes up to 2 hours on surfaces like tables, door handles and desks?

The most common way germs are spread is by people's hands. Germs are often harmless but they can also cause illnesses such as colds, flu, and tummy bugs.

Washing your hands properly with soap and warm water is the single most important thing you can do to help reduce the spread of infections and help protect yourself.

Unfortunately, this is something that some of our children regularly forget to do when they are in school! So, in addition to the constant reminders from staff, we are running the EASTER HOLIDAY POSTER COMPETITION to help spread the message (and not the germs).

We would like your child to design a poster – which will be displayed in the toilets in their year group and around the school – which reminds and persuades other children to wash their hands.

The posters should be:

  • Eye catching – bold writing and bright colours might help! You can use a computer to help, if you like.

  • Persuasive – the use of persuasive language and facts is always good

  • The correct size (A4)

  • Labelled with your child’s name and class (on the back please)

There will be a prize (as well as the glory of their poster being displayed) for the winning poster in every year group (Reception to Year 6)

Entries must be handed in to the school office by 9am on Wednesday 13th April 2016.
